Background
The site was to be designed to be simple to use, as it catered for boys and parents, and easy to update for the client. With a few static pages, a dynamic 'news' page was required. Simplicity of design and use was a key issue for the client.
Details
The audience of the site played a large part in the design. Most were likely to be novice users of computers, so the site design was deliberately kept as simple and uncluttered as possible. Initial design briefs featuring more detail and graphic elements were rejected in favour of the final design.
The final website allows the client to publish updates to one "News and Events" page, and additional pages can be easily added at a later date. The entire site is coded to be viewed safely in all the common web browsers, and all the pages use a consist navigation and layout, to re-enforce the simplicity and usability of the site.
