Background
This company was founded in 2004 from over 13 years experience in the entertainment lighting industry. Experts at supplying Project Management, Lighting Design & Operation and Digital Content Creation services they wanted a simple website which would list their commissions and show some examples of their unique digital content creations.
Details
The company already had the logo and the basic "black on gold" colour scheme, so the site had to match. I decided to stick with a simple black/white/grey palette using the gold to highlight elements in the navigation bar. They also wanted to be able to keep the front page up-to-date with news of recent commissions. Due to hosting restrictions we agreed to use Blogger, allowing them to update the front (home) page at any time. The front page also includes archive pages which are chosen from a drop-down list allowing potential customers to see all their previous work.
They also wanted a way to display examples of their digital content creations, which are available to purchase via a third party website. The gallery page holds thumbnail examples of their digital content with a simple mouseover action triggering the animation. The animations were provided by the client. Future development may see a direct link into the third party shopping cart, but that was outwith the scope of this project.
