Background
Bob wanted his blog updated from the old standard Movable Type template to something a bit more modern and new whilst retaining the same features as before.
Details
After agreeing on a basic mocked up design, the layout and style were converted to the appropriate Movable Type templates. The core structure retained the two column layout familiar to current readers of the site, a new banner was created, and the main block of content was moved into the centre of the browser window.
Whilst nothing radical in design terms, the main idea was to update Bob's blog without alienating his readers. The familiar two column layout of most blogs suited that aim. The colour scheme ties the site together, pulling from the patterned background and providing the final touches.

Movable Type provides the engine that powers the site with the template coding handled using CSS and HTML.
